Safe. Secure. Comfortable.
At Pierce Transit, we are continuously working to help keep our riders and the system safe. That’s why we take enforcement of our “Rules of the Road†and Unlawful Transit Conduct (UTC) laws very seriously. It’s unlawful to threaten the safety of a driver or a rider.
If you feel unsafe, threatened, or harassed on the bus or at a Pierce Transit facility, notify your driver or call 9-1-1.
Depending on the situation, the driver can stop the bus, call for help, have another passenger removed, and/or involve the police. Please do not hesitate to seek assistance or support from your driver. If situations prevent you from alerting the driver, and you see a crime being committed or a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 to report the problem when it’s safe to do so.
If the incident is on the bus, be ready to give the route number, direction the bus is traveling, and the bus fleet number. Inside the bus, the fleet number appears above the windshield. Outside the bus, it appears on the outer bus corners. Tell the driver you have called 9-1-1 as soon as it is safe to do so.
Everyone deserves a safe, comfortable ride.
